Second edition of “Imola piano e forte”

The city of Imola has a very close vocation with an instrument: the piano – explains the Councilor for Culture, Giacomo Gambi, which continues to be home for decades to the prestigious “Incontri con il maestro” Academy, has over the years seen alternating teachers among the most accredited on the world scene and talented students who have undertaken brilliant international careers from Imola. The Vassura-Baroncini music school sees absolute excellence in its piano courses, both in terms of number of students and the level achieved by the students. The piano is therefore closely linked with the recent history of this city and Imola Piano e Forte wants to be an event that the municipal administration, in collaboration with the Piano Academy, wishes to propose to the citizens”.

From the many years of vocation of our city towards the piano was born “Imola Piano e Forte”, an original musical format in its second edition that will liven up the historic center on Friday 28 June. It is an initiative created by the Culture Area of Municipality of Imola in collaboration with the International Academy Foundation of Imola “Meetings with the maestro”.

Five piano stations will be set up from 7pm to 11pm in the historic center – Piazzetta S. Francesco, Via Emilia, Piazza Gramsci, Piazza Matteotti and Piazza Caduti per la Libertà – where, without interruption, the brilliant students of the Piano Academy will perform in a “Piano City” formula, with the city as a widespread stage. The young pianists will offer the public a repertoire of art music, with the possibility of enjoying it in an informal and unusual way.
