What is the cleanest sea in Italy? Ranking of the regions

When choosing your next holiday destination, we now have some more information: the new report of the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA), through the data collected from the monitoring of bathing waters in Italy, draws up the ranking of the regions where the sea is cleanest. The survey only takes into account the stretches of coast intended for bathing, along which, during 2023, more than 28 thousand samplings of water.

There are two of them biological indicators on the basis of which the bathability of the water is established: the concentration of Escherichia coli and that of intestinal enterococci. From the analysis of the data, the ranking of the cleanest seas in Italy emerges, divided by region (Sicily remains excludedbecause the regional health system which is entrusted with the collection of information has not yet made the results of the monitoring available).
