Extraordinary maintenance work has started on the SP 10 Matera Sud, financed with 300 thousand euros from the MIT. Satisfaction expressed by the President of the Province, Piero Marrese.
Extraordinary maintenance work has begun on the SP 10 Matera Sud, a crucial artery for access to the city of Matera and the Madonna delle Grazie hospital for those coming from the south. The Province of Matera contracted the works, financed with decree 141-22 of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT), for a sum of approximately 300 thousand euros.
The interventions include the stabilization of the slopes, the leveling of the safety barriers through the construction of gabions, the sealing of the cracks in the road pavement and the reconstruction of the horizontal and vertical signs. These works were deemed necessary to guarantee the safety and usability of the road, especially in the four critical points of the route.
The President of the Province of Matera, Piero Marrese, declared: “This is a very important and long-awaited intervention because the road in question connects Matera with state road 7 and in particular with the Madonna delle Grazie hospital. It is the first entry into the city for those coming from the south and it is very busy: also for this reason there was a need to intervene in particular in four points of the road route where critical issues were recorded”.
Marrese also thanked the technical office of the Province, the vice president Emanuele Pilato, the local councilor Carmine Alba and the councilor delegated for roads for the Matera hills for their collaboration.
