PALERMO – “The periodic checks on budget balances have highlighted a significant increase in the collection of tax revenues relating to the IMU, equal to approximately 2.4 million euros more than the previous year”.

This was declared by the Budget Councilor of the municipality of Palermo, Brigida Alaimo. “This result is testimony to the effectiveness of the widespread fight against tax evasion implemented by the municipal administration and brilliantly conducted by the revenue area.”

“A decisive role, continues the councilor, was played by the strengthening of the Revenue and Taxes Office of the Municipality of Palermo, made possible thanks to targeted investments in human resources, through new hiring and stabilization of staff, obtained from the synergy with the national Government”, he adds.

“The increase in IMU collections represents an important milestone for the city’s accounts. The fight against tax evasion is a priority for this administration, and the results obtained demonstrate that the efforts undertaken are bearing the desired results. We hope that the strengthening of the Tax Office, through a careful policy of targeted hiring, will continue, also in light of the good results achieved”, concludes Alaimo.
