After the great success of the last edition, the 56th edition of the INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL OF LA SPEZIA will be held from 24 to 30 July in La Spezia, the most important jazz festival in Liguria as well as the oldest Italian music festival dedicated to the genre.

«We are ready for the 56th edition of the International Jazz Festival, the longest running event in Italy dedicated to this musical genre. – declares Pierluigi Peracchini, Mayor of La Spezia – This year too we will have big names of national and international importance who will certainly know how to involve the public with shows of great importance. Russell Crowe, Goran Bregovic, Mike Stern and many others will perform in our city which, year after year, increasingly becomes a point of reference for jazz enthusiasts and beyond.”

The event, now a fixed event for thousands of jazz music enthusiasts from all over Italy, offers a stellar program with internationally renowned artists ready to excite with unique and unforgettable performances.

«I have always worked to present a program every year capable of offering the best experiences of improvised music, drawing inspiration from the movements and energies of African-American culture – explains Lorenzo Cimino, the artistic director – in this edition, I have maintained a strong bond with tradition, but wanting to intercept all the new musical trends, exploring the artistic evolutions that define our time”

Once again, the evocative historic center of La Spezia will be the setting for the International Jazz Festival. For a week the Ligurian city will light up with hugely popular concerts which will be held, as usual, in the scenic Piazza Europa starting from 9.30pm.
