Venus of the Marsi is preparing to celebrate the Feast of the Madonna del Carmine with an extraordinary event that promises to leave its mark: the third edition ofItinerant Crochet Flower Show.
For the first time, a town in the province of L’Aquila will host this unique eventthanks to the joint commitment of Venus Festival Committee and of ProLoco of San Salvo.
The event, which will take place during the Patronal Festival dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine, is made possible thanks to the decisive help of Marina Carducci, a Venetian resident in San Salvo and active volunteer of the local ProLoco. Her dedication and love for tradition played a key role in the realization of this special event. Furthermore, the agreement signed by the president of the Feste Venere Committee, Giovanni Mostacciformalized the collaboration between the two communities, making this project a reality.
The tradition of the crochet flower display, started by the Pro Loco of San Salvo three years ago, has seen growing success, bringing color and creativity to various towns in Abruzzo and the surrounding regions.
This initiative, born from an intuition of the Pro Loco, has been able to involve entire communities, young and old, in meticulous and patient work that unites generations and tells stories of a past time.
In Venere dei Marsi, on the occasion of the Feast of the Madonna del Carmine, two separate floral displays will be created. The first, the result of the skilful work of the Venus volunteers, will decorate the street of Via Monte Carmelo, the evocative route crossed by the statue of Simulacrum of the Madonna del Carmine during the procession on Tuesday 16 July. The second, the crochet flower display, will embellish the staircase of the Piazza della Madonna del Carmineoffering an extraordinary glance and a touch of originality to the party.
The event promises to be a highly attractive occasion, capable of attracting visitors and curious people from all over the province. The combination of religious tradition, art and community makes this event an unmissable moment for anyone who wants to live a unique experience in the heart of Abruzzo.
