Thursday 20 June 2024 – June is the month of “closing work” for athletes in martial disciplines and combat sports. The agenda for the Lucanian athletes who have brought prestige to our region during this brilliant sporting season is always busy.
It ended on Sunday 16/06, at the PalaFijlkam in Ostia, Rome, for Domenico Coluccithe Lucanian athlete from the Master Massimiliano Monacothe last Trial, in the adventure in what is considered the most important interstyle fighting tournament in Italy: Ocean Bjj Pro Championship.
Colucci’s competition, promoted just last weekend at the Federal Olympic Center in Ostia, during the national Budo Clan gathering, which among others saw Gabriele Albano, be awarded the Black Belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu: the fifth in Basilicata.
Returning to the promotion, organized by FIJLKAM and the Italian Jiu Jitsu Union, sponsored by Adidas, the prize up for grabs for the winners of the two weight categories amounts to 10,000 euros for each category.
Also competing for the Finals in Sardinia in September are big international names including: O’Falgan, 4-time winner of the ADCC; Lira, World Champion and on the podium of the main wrestling tournaments without kimono; Hopstok one of the most medaled athletes in the IBJJF.
The month does not end here for the athletes of the Academy of Martial Arts and Combat Sports presided over by Bartolo Telescto and directed by Serena Lamastra.
In fact, in the last appointment of June, Donatello Angerame, new Italian Federkombat Champion, in Foggia, will enter the cage in the Spartan MMA MAIN EVENT in The Cage, the Federkombat Mixed Martial Arts gala which will take place next Saturday 22/ 06.
In Kickboxing, Viola Monaco, called up to the Collegiate degli Azzurri, which will take place in Bergamo on 23/03 and will define “the squad” of athletes who will join the national team for the next Wako Kickboxing World Championships, scheduled in Budabest at the end August.
