Three boys from Treviso they participated in the Rai Uno summer quiz show, Reazione a Catena – which this season saw the return of Pino Insegno as host.

Chain Reaction – The Winning Entente is Rai 1’s summer quiz show, in which two teams, each made up of three players, face each other in a series of tests in which they have to test their knowledge. The ultimate goal is to solve the final chain reaction to win the prize pool accumulated during the game.
In the episode of Wednesday 19 June 2024, three young people from Treviso challenged the reigning champions Le Specialiste, a team made up of Eleonora, Noemi and Dominga Simone, Federico and Enricowhich present themselves as the Trio of Rings.
Federico explained the choice of the team name:
“In addition to being fans of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, our name is due to a marital situation that binds us. Enrico was my wedding partner and I was his, Simone is not married but together with Enrico he acted as partner to another friend of ours.”
“Guys, Beautiful is Cinderella compared to you”, comments Pino Insegno referring to the famous Soap Opera.
The Trio of Rings match
The first challenge of the match is “Word Hunt“, the objective is to be able to guess a hidden word which is revealed progressively, letter by letter, in random order. In this game, each of the three competitors from both teams has a button available to reserve and answer.
The first challenge is dominated by the specialists, the Trio of the Rings manages to guess only the third word “Redundant“. The challenge ends with a prize pool of 10 thousand euros for the champions and 2 thousand euros for the Trevisos.
The Trio of Rings comeback with the second challenge, the “Musical chain“, which consists in guessing a sequence of seven words connected by linguistic or associative relationships, starting from a given initial word. Each word has associated musical notes which, listened to in order, form a melody of a famous song. Competitors must complete the sequence by guessing the hidden words and then identifying the piece of music must correspond exactly to those established by the authors of the program.
In this game the boys from Treviso guessed both musical chainsbringing the prize pool to 32 thousand euros thanks to “A splendid day” by Vasco Rossi and “La isla bonita” by Madonna, overtaking Le specialise.
In the third game the “When, where, how, why” (whose objective is to guess what a series of four statements refers to, called a “quatrain”, which progressively describes an object, a person, an event or something else, identifiable with a noun or a phrase) dominate the reigning champions, but the Trio of Rings is still ahead.
The specialists overtake the Trio in the “Four for one“, in which each sentence hides a mysterious word. The girls score a prize pool of 34 thousand euros compared to 32 thousand for the Trevisos.
The Trio of Rings flies with the challenge”One leads to another“. The game is based on a sequence of seven words, as in the game “The Musical Chain”. However, in this case, the first and last words of the sequence are given from the very beginning, while the five intermediate words remain hidden words The objective of the game is to complete the sequence by guessing the hidden words one at a time, always proceeding from a known word to the next hidden one.
The boys from Treviso manage to score a prize pool of 98 thousand euros compared to 43 thousand for the Specialiste and they fly to the Winning Entente.
The Winning Agreement and the controversies against the specialists
The last challenge before the final game is “The winning agreement“. In this game the two teams compete directly. The objective is to make a teammate (the “guess”) guess a series of hidden words. The other two members of the team (the “suggests”) know the hidden word and must formulate a question in Italian, taking turns saying one word each.
The first team to play is the reigning champions, who manage to guess 8 words in total.
Then it’s the turn of the Trio of Rings. It is Federico who has to identify the word, while Enrico and Simone have to ask the question. The three total only 7 words and are automatically out of the game.
It is therefore up to the Specialists to guess the word of the last “Chain Reaction” game, and thanks to this last challenge the three manage to win 40,500 euros.
But controversy is mounting on social media. In fact, many users, in the decisive game of the Winning Agreement, noticed the champions’ tendency to “telegram” that is, to omit articles and prepositions to save time, a practice prohibited by the rules. But not only that, according to many the words to guess in the last game were too simple.
“Honestly the show with these three girls just seems like an act, not a game show,” one user commented on Twitter.
