CASERTA – The final budget for the 2023 financial year was approved with 19 votes in favor and 12 against in the Municipality of Caserta. A fact that did not appear obvious after the well-known events concerning the Municipality itself. A city council that wasn’t all roses and flowers, with the mayor addressing councilor Paolo Santonastaso with very harsh epithets, who in recent days had loudly requested that the final balance be rejected.

THE PRESS NOTE FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF CASERTA

The City Council approved the management report (the final budget) relating to the 2023 financial year, with 19 votes in favor and 12 against. “We are faced with – explained the Mayor of Caserta – Carlo Marino – to a document of fundamental importance for the city, which will allow us to intervene on some crucial sectors, first and foremost on maintenance. Thanks to the enormous effort made by the Administration and the economic-financial offices of the Institution, we have managed to invest important resources in the maintenance of greenery, roads, schools and cemeteries. All this will allow us to start this work in the next few weeks and to provide important answers to citizens”.

“Over the years – added the mayor – we have aimed to implement all those measures necessary to avoid further debt, which would inevitably have been burdened on the entire citizenry and, above all, on the new generations. This Administration – continued the Mayor – has carried out a great activity of restructuring the accounts, which will soon also allow us to emerge from the crisis, facing the future with greater serenity, also through the hiring of personnel in the Social Policies sector”.

“A very important fact, then,” concluded the Mayor Marine – concerns the outcome of the vote: the majority was compact, united, sharing this very important document. Let’s move forward and work with ever greater conviction.”
