Three more prestigious awards for “Il Fornello” robiola cheese. This time at the prestigious XVI° of the dairy competition reserved for cheeses, ricottas and goat’s yoghurt promoted by the national organization of cheese tasters. The Caglieglia micro dairy continues to amaze by collecting “All’Ombra della Madonnina” two “Excellence” awards for the “Piramide” soft cheeses obtained with the addition of vegetal charcoal and the “Mignon” and a superior quality award for the robiolina . The awards were shown off on the occasion of the latest edition of Spino Fiorito, the wine event held in Piazza Aranci and where the volcanic shepherd Stefano Benassi, together with his wife Ilaria Mignani, celebrated with the visitors. “We are very happy for these recognitions. – says Ilaria Magnani, owner of the company – The sacrifices that my wife and I make are well repaid by these moments. The competitions allow us to compare ourselves with many other cheesemakers from all over Italy, in The last competition, in Milan, was more than sixty with almost 300 cheeses. Our products reflect the respect we have for our goats and for our roots that we are honored to be able to tell through our work”. The company from the small hamlet overlooking the Frigido valley is the protagonist of the Campagna Amica markets which have contributed to making its dairy products and its beautiful story of resilience and recovery of the ancient pastoral tradition known. The company has around thirty murcian and chamois animals that graze freely in the mountains between Caglieglia and Casette in an uncontaminated and healthy environment. There are many products that “Il Fornello” produces: from fresh goat cheeses with mountain herbs to cacioricotta (neither cheese nor ricotta) to flowered rinds, from goat’s blue cheese to Brie to cave-matured cheese to normal caciotta and cheese with pepper. Coldiretti Massa Carrara congratulates the “Il Fornello” company for the new recognitions obtained by inviting those who have not yet had the opportunity to discover the products of the Caglieglia micro-dairy directly at the Campagna Amica markets. In Massa this opportunity happens every Wednesday morning in Largo Matteotti.
