“The only right choice that Falcomatà can and must make, at this moment, we reiterate, is to resign. So as to finally free the city from the grip of inaction, neglect and investigations in which it has been held since he governed it. Thus avoiding the City Commissionership, which is a hypothesis to be avoided and which instead Muraca, the mayor and the PD seem to want to happen at all costs. Resign, do it for the people of Reggio, if you don’t want to do it for your own dignity ! Perhaps he will also be able to regain a modicum of respect from the same honest citizens who voted for him and who probably realized their big mistake.”
“Indeed, however, the Mayor also allowed himself the luxury of proceeding with a new appointment to replenish his staff, as if the inefficiency and ineptitude demonstrated so far by him and his council needed a new contribution! The huge sums spent on staff appointments, rather than guaranteeing essential services, are no longer calculated. Regional councilor Muraca should then know that there is not only judicial truth, which we are the first to expect, as guaranteeists that we are, but there is also historical truth and, above all, morality: the famous moral question that the left claims to carry the flag and which instead Muraca, Falcomatá and company have put underfoot and which they bring out at their convenience”.
“The facts emerging from the Ducale investigation should, in this sense, give rise to reflection. Behaviors such as those that emerged from the investigation may not constitute a crime, but they certainly embody actions that are morally repugnant and totally worthy of censorship. Muraca should therefore be the first to suggest to his PD colleague to step aside, also with respect for the party and the many women and men who still believe in it, rather than defending it by launching silly and empty accusations against Senator Minasi and the League, for political choices that they are judged well before seeing the results tested in practice. Citizens, on the other hand, will be able to judge for themselves, and indeed his words will help them understand what is the right thing to choose as soon as it will finally be possible to exercise the democratic vote again. But this is probably precisely the fear that still keeps Falcomatà glued to his chair! Let him be ashamed and resign, without wasting any more useless time, he will go down in history as the Mayor who led the City to disaster and who didn’t lift a finger to avoid the Commissioner of the people of Reggio” they conclude.
