Estate Leggerà returns – 2024, the event that from June to September will liven up all the city neighborhoods with initiatives and events as part of the program to combat the educational poverty of minors promoted by the Municipality of Bari – Welfare department and managed by the Children’s Library[e] of the Progetto Città social cooperative with the collaboration of the organizations that are part of the city networks Bari Social Book and Bari Social Summer.

Estate Leggerà is a proposal aimed at boys and girls, boys and girls and their families, which intends to stimulate active participation in educational, training, cultural, recreational, accessible and widespread events in the area.

In total there will be over 100 events organized throughout the city.

The activities of the event are inaugurated in the equipped gardens of the Children’s Library[e] in the park 2 June tomorrow, 21 June, summer solstice, with “Night Beds” which celebrates the most magical period of the year with an event full of evocative atmospheres.

Starting from 9pm, the initiative will take place in the green spaces illuminated by dozens and dozens of lanterns which with soft light will accompany the groups of children/and families on the journey towards five different places and five different stories to end with a final surprise at sound of music.

Several of the events of the Welfare summer review will take place in the Aquarius Library in the gardens of via Siponto, in Japigia.

On June 30th, from 6 pm, the “Secret Garden” will involve participants in an intriguing treasure hunt from afternoon to sunset with ingenuity activities, riddles, workshops and sporting events in the name of the crime literary genre.

In the same venue, on 11 July, at 5pm, a flashbookmob will be held which will host an afternoon dedicated to the meeting of families, children and grandparents on a patchwork made with tablecloths, mats and colored towels. The event will be animated by music and readings aloud dedicated to the themes of peace, friendship and hospitality. There will be storytellers made with the kamishibai technique, i.e. the classic Japanese theatre, interspersed with the sharing of a snack. The event will be organized and animated by the operators of Estate Leggerà 2024 with the volunteer readers of the Nati per Leggere program.

On 8 July on the waterfront of San Girolamo, on 29 July in the gardens of via Siponto and on 2 September in the Children’s Library[e]at 8pm, fun guaranteed with the evening dance halls, an opportunity for young people and adults to meet and experience, with the aim of animating and experiencing the city’s public spaces in different, welcoming and inclusive ways.

Appointment with the open-air cinema for the “Among the trees the film” series on 4 and 14 July, 8 and 29 August, at 8pm, in the garden of the Children’s Library[e] with four screenings of fiction and/or animated films.

In the same location on 6, 7 and 8 September, “Teatro al Parco” also returns, a historic summer event which this year will be characterized by the direct participation of minors, not only as spectators but as protagonists. In fact, it is envisaged that the theater workshop course attended by the children will be returned to the public throughout the summer. There will also be actors and clowns who will present shows linked to the different techniques of animation, figure, narrative and spoken word, street theatre. The event will take place at 6pm in the garden of the Children’s Library in the 2 June park.

From 24 June to 7 September, from Monday to Friday, from 4pm to 8pm (with a suspension from 12 to 24 August), with “Agorà”, space for educational-cultural, recreational-recreational, environmental, atelieristic and dance activities in the equipped garden of the Children’s Library[e].

Furthermore, a series of initiatives promoted by the Bari Social Book network and the Bari Social Summer network are planned throughout the city in the offices of the city’s welfare services. The activities of the networks will be divided, in relation to the specific missions, into animated readings, book exchanges, book presentations, workshops, readings and theatrical performances, parties, excursions, ateliers, yoga and gymnastics workshops, dance activities, involving minors, families and adults in all 5 municipalities of the city.
