Around 1.30 am today, the police officers intervened in Vicenza, in Via Torino, where the presence of a badly beaten man had been reported.

Once on site, the police found a citizen of Malian origin, with his residence permit in order, who declared that he had been robbed shortly before by two unknown men. In particular, the offended person, while in transit in Via Torino, was approached by a woman who offered him a sexual service. As soon as they were secluded nearby, two men arrived and attacked him with kicks, punches and a chain with which they hit him on the head and the back of the neck, taking possession of his smartphone, the wallet containing a few tens of euros and the backpack containing his personal effects.

The two criminals walked away immediately afterwards, losing track of themselves.

The victim, visibly shaken, reported that he did not need medical treatment and was therefore accompanied to the police station to better contextualise the incident and formalize the complaint.

After leaving the police station around 3.00 am, he was accompanied by the officers to his home.

During the journey, passing again near Via Torino, the victim called the attention of the officers by declaring that he recognized one of the two men who had attacked him shortly before, while he was walking a few tens of meters away, right in front of him.

The Police then managed to intercept the alleged attacker, who, resisting the control, was immediately secured and loaded onto the police squad.

The perpetrator of the attack was recognized without a shadow of a doubt by the offended person and by the Agents themselves following the control and verification of the images of the 1993 city video surveillance system for AT, originally from Nigeria, already subjected to the ongoing measure of the daily obligation to report to the judicial police at the Vicenza Police Headquarters as he is accused of being responsible for other robberies committed in recent months in Vicenza.

Due to the time that had passed since the crime was committed, it was not possible to arrest him. He was then reported to the Judicial Authority for robbery.
