Leonardo Caponi: vote indication for Vittoria Ferdinandi on the ballot

“Above all, among what is commonly referred to as the people of the left there is still a genuine concern (although we may consider it exaggerated) towards the permanence of the centre-right in the government of our city, as well as of the national government . It is in consideration and respect for this widespread feeling and in order not to appear opposed to it that as a candidate for mayor I give to my comrades and voters for next Sunday’s ballot, the indication of vote for the candidate of the progressive cartel, without prejudice for each and everyone the legitimacy of other voting options, naturally excluding that for the right, also in consideration of the observation that the progressive cartel does not present the vote itself as an alternative between left and right, but fundamentally between two people”. This was stated by the candidate for mayor of Perugia, Leonardo Caponi (Pci-Perugia) in view of the run-off between Vittoria Ferdinandi and Margherita Scoccia. In the first round Caponi had stopped at 0.55 percent of the preferences. “I reiterate that the PCI of Perugia confirms its commitment and its decision, after the electoral campaign and for the future – underlines Caponi – to work for the construction of a communist and left-wing presence in Perugia and to start the recovery for this purpose of relationships of comparison and collaboration with all available forces”. Regarding the electoral result, Caponi states that “beyond the numerical result of the vote we have aggregated, where before there was nothing, a group of comrades, some of them young, on whom the project of build the presence of the PCI and a left in Perugia”.
