Together with a friend, on the evening of Monday 17 June, he was walking through the streets of the historic center of Reggio Emilia, when he was approached by two young foreigners who insistently asked him for a cigarette. At a certain point one of the two hit him in the chest with a fist and then tore off the chain around his neck which by chance fell to the ground. The two disappeared with the victim, a 20-year-old from Scandiano, who picked up the chain and gave the alarm to the police. During the research, the military tracked down the material perpetrator of the episode, who was then recognized by the victim in a specific photographic identification session.
The further investigative investigations allowed the Carabinieri to acquire elements of alleged responsibility towards today’s suspect, a 21-year-old living in Fornovo di Taro, reported in a state of freedom to the Reggio Emilia Prosecutor’s Office on charges of attempted aggravated robbery.
The proceeding, in the preliminary investigation phase, will continue with the usual investigative investigations for the purpose of evaluations and determinations inherent to the exercise of criminal action. Investigations are underway to trace the suspect’s friend and verify whether he was involved in the robbery attempt.
