Viterbo – “The range tests began with enthusiasm”. The president of the Association of Santa Rosa porters Massimo Mecarini thus inaugurated the load tests in the church of Peace in Piazza Concetti in Viterbo. In view of the pylon test on July 7th in the town square and the transport of the machine on September 3rd, when it will be the turn of architect Raffaele Ascenzi’s Dies Natalis.

“Today the test is reserved for actual porters – explains Mecarini -, tomorrow is Saturday it will also be the turn of the aspirants”.
The rehearsals, which began today, will continue until June 22nd, from 5pm to 8pm.
Today also the delivery of the honorary member certificates of the Association to Vincenzo and Mirko Fiorillo, builders of the Santa Rosa machine, Luigi Ottavio Mechelli, president of Avis Viterbo, and Sandro Pappalardo, Enit councilor.
Together with Mecarini and the head porter Sandro Rossi, there are also the prefect Gennaro Capo, the police commissioner Luigi Silipo, the provincial commander of the Guardia di Finanza Carlo Pasquali and the creator of Dies Natalis Raffaele Ascenzi.
About eighty registered for today’s tests. About forty aspirants are expected starting tomorrow.

A test, the load test, which consists of each porter or aspirant doing three laps inside the Church of Peace while carrying a box weighing 150 kilos on their shoulders.
