With the arrival of summer, FlixBus is expanding its routes with the province of Catanzaro and Calabria, with particular attention to both the seaside resorts of the province and its hinterland. This reflects the company’s desire to facilitate knowledge of the area by supporting a more environmentally friendly approach to travel, based on the use of collective means of transport.

All the new direct operational trips to the regional capital, Lamezia Terme, the Sant’Eufemia airport and the seaside resorts of Catanzaro can already be purchased on the FlixBus website, from the free FlixBus app and at physical retailers throughout the country. Lido, Gizzeria Lido and Falerna Marina.

Catanzaro, for example, will be connected both in the city and at the Catanzaro Lido area up to approximately 20 times a week with Rome, with Bologna up to 14 times and with Naples, Salerno and Palermo up to seven times a week.

In the province, connections with Lamezia Terme will first of all be strengthened: from Rome, Palermo, Catania and Bari it will be possible to arrive in the city more than 20 times a week, while from Bologna, Florence, Milan, Turin and Venice there will be up to seven weekly trips. Connections to Sant’Eufemia airport can also be booked on the company’s channels.

Again through the FlixBus channels, it is also possible to purchase tickets to reach the seaside resorts of Gizzeria Lido and Falerna Marina.

With the strengthening of summer connections, the number of cities in Calabria that can be reached on board the green buses rises to over 50. Of these, 44 (around 90%) are municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants: by guaranteeing connections also with various smaller centres, FlixBus intends to facilitate people’s movements even towards locations less easily reachable from other regions.

«We believe that an efficient and widespread collective mobility offer can best combine the need for sustainability with that of cost-effectiveness, as well as contributing to creating opportunities for the tourism development of the area», stated Andrea Incondi, Managing Director of FlixBus Italia . «For this summer too, in addition to increasing the frequency of connections on the most well-known and popular national routes, we wanted to enhance lesser-known locations in our beautiful country. The variety of our heritage is a priceless wealth, and we believe it is essential to facilitate access even to less frequented centres. In this way we can contribute to highlighting the particularities of the territory by encouraging environmentally friendly forms of travel, with the possibility of generating a spin-off for local economies and encouraging an approach to discovering places that can also benefit the destination communities », added Incondi.
