In recent days, a suggestive hypothesis had emerged regarding the Verona: the return of Ante Rebic, who currently plays in Besiktas in Turkey. In the last season the attacker scored just 1 goal in 23 games with the Juventus shirt and, to find new stimuli, he would certainly not refuse a new parenthesis in Italy (where he played for the Scaligeri, but also with the shirts of Fiorentina and Milan).
According to what he reports The Arena, this hypothesis soon expired. The origins of this choice by the yellow-blue club – we read – are there economic and personal reasons. Rebic’s salary is too high, even more so considering that he is a player who will turn 31 in September. The Venetian club, for its part, has no intention of overpaying the players in terms of compensation and, by philosophy, prefers to focus on young people to enhance rather than on expert players to relaunch.
