There will be no wide field at the local elections in Caltanissetta for the election of the mayor. The outgoing mayor of the M5S Roberto Gambino, who obtained 28% of the votes in the first round, did not in fact find any agreement either with the centre-left candidate Annalisa Petitto or with the centre-right candidate Walter Tesauro who are going to the run-off on 23 and 24 June .
Walter Tesauro, 62 years old, lawyer, centre-right candidate, who obtained 10,052 votes (34.42%) in the first round, is supported by the Forza Italia, Fratelli d’Italia, Lega-UDC, Christian Democracy, Azzurri per Caltanissetta-lists. Annalisa Petitto, 46 years old, lawyer and outgoing city councilor, obtained 9,000 votes (30.81%) in the first round. The Democratic Party gave its support without a symbol, in the Caltanissetta Futura and Democratic list. Confirmed are the deputy mayor Salvatore Licata and the councilors Alberto Calafato, Leyla Montagnino, Vincenzo Cancelleri and Carmelo Milazzo.
