Below we publish in full a press note from the local section of the Democratic Party, which comments on the approval in Parliament of the bill on Differentiated Autonomy for the regions.
After a long and silent, silent “river” session, the Chamber of Deputies approved the bill on differentiated autonomy, effectively undermining some of the most important pillars of our Constitution. The approval of the bill creates an irreparable fracture between the North and the South of the country, condemning it to play the role of bringing up the rear of a country that is preparing for new upheavals, from the premiership to a justice reform that crumbles the autonomy of the judiciary. Healthcare, school, culture, transport will become a luxury for the regions most in difficulty of our country, ours, which loudly ask, cry out for help for structural changes. The Government, however, chooses the easier path: the Northern regions, already rich, will continue to receive resources that the South will never see. This concept, so simple and evident, requires a serious reflection on the future of our country and on the resilience to be implemented from today, creating a tough, heartfelt, lively opposition in every corner of the squares, streets where democracy is still a value. . We only ask the right-wing parties to look in the face, or rather in the eyes, of the voters of the South to whom they promised change, especially the younger ones, from whom they instead stole the future of their land.
