STILL SEIZURE OF Narcotic Substances: A MAN STOP WHILE CARRYING 18 KG OF HASHISH. – Novara Police Headquarters

The activity of the State Police aimed at combating the phenomenon of drug dealing continues incessantly. On the afternoon of June 14th, the Flying Squad of the Novara Police Headquarters, in collaboration with the Novara East Traffic Police Subsection, arrested a 46-year-old Nigerian citizen for detention for the purpose of dealing hashish pursuant to art. 73 c. 1st Presidential Decree 309/90.

The aforementioned person was checked while he was traveling along the A4 TO – MI motorway in his vehicle and, betrayed by his excessive nervousness, he was accompanied to the offices of the Novara Est Road Police Subsection to be subjected to a personal and local search. During the investigation, eighteen kilograms of narcotic substance were found and seized, divided into so-called “blocks” wrapped in cellophane and taped wrapping paper that the man was carrying inside the trunk of the car, hidden in shopping bags.

The man, at the end of the technical, qualitative and quantitative investigations carried out at the Provincial Scientific Police Office, was declared under arrest for the crime of possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of dealing approximately 18 kg of hashish.

At the end of the formal proceedings, the Nigerian citizen was arrested and detained at the Novara prison.

The operation follows the seizure of a further 37 kg of drugs carried out by Flying Squad personnel in the space of just one month.
