In 2023, the overall value of exports from the province of Siena stood at 5.3 billion euros, with a growth of 42.4% compared to the previous year. While the Tuscan average growth was 5.6%. Siena is the third province in Italy, in absolute values, for export increases. It weighs on the regional data at 9.3%, while for added value it is at 7% and for employed and family income at 7.3%.
These are just some of the social, demographic and economic indicators that will be presented during the 22nd edition of the ‘Economy Day – Siena 2030’, the initiative, organized by the Chamber of Commerce, the University and the Monte Paschi Foundation, in program tomorrow, starting at 11 am, in the Attic Room of the Chamber of Commerce.
It will be a precious opportunity for discussion and analysis on the development of the territory through the contributions of the president and general secretary of the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce Massimo Guasconi and Marco Randellini, the president and general director of the MPS Foundation Carlo Rossi and Marco Forte , by the vice-rector of the University Donata Medaglini and by professor Francesca Gagliardi of the University’s Department of Political Economy and Statistics.
Andrea Favaretto, Director of the Sintesi Study Center of Mestre, will also present the latest report of the Tourism Observatory of the province of Siena, an important tool for analyzing the dynamics and trends of the Sienese tourism supply chain, born from a project by Confcommercio, Confesercenti and Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo-Siena and with the financial support of the MPS Foundation. It will be the report with multiple slides and data divided municipality by municipality. Siena and San Gimignano, again in 2023, are the centers that record the highest number of tourist presences.
The conclusions of the work will be entrusted to the councilor for the economy and productive activities of Tuscany, Leonardo Marras and the interventions will be moderated by Pino Di Blasio, head of the editorial team of La Nazione di Siena.
