Playground in pieces, the Municipality intervenes – Teramo

TERAMO. New fence in recycled plastic for the playground of the Ivan Graziani gardens, in front of the court. The Municipality of Teramo, through the councillor Valdo Di Bonaventura, intervened to remove the old wooden fence which was now broken and missing in several places, proceeding with the replacement. The multiple reports, the latest in recent days on these pages, led to an initial intervention which has meanwhile restored safety by isolating the playing area from the road. However, the serious problem of games remains, removed because they are unusable or vandalized and therefore in some cases dangerous. Di Bonaventura assured that he will carry out an inspection in these days to understand how to proceed: if it is possible, that is, to repair what is broken or if the games need to be replaced and therefore ask for a quote for a new installation. The large swing has been missing from the park for some time, one of the two slides is broken in several places and in recent days the spring horses have been torn down. Very little remains in what is one of the most central and used spaces in the city by families.
Meanwhile, the new playground at the end of Viale dei Tigli, in Via Diaz, a stone’s throw from the fire station, is nearing completion. The old structure was removed entirely and a larger, more modern and inclusive one was installed. The works, the amount of which is around 110 thousand euros, are underway and the councilor Di Bonaventura is evaluating, compared to the current earth and gravel terrain, the placement of a synthetic grass surface which «in addition to being aesthetically more beautiful , it is also safer and more usable even for those who travel in a pram or with strollers. The area will be fenced off and will therefore be safer for children”, concludes the councilor. (vm)
