Rome, 26 Nov. (askanews) – Postal savings bonds and postal savings books remain among the forms of savings most loved by Italians, and the provinces of Vicenza and Treviso offer confirmation of this, with over 969 thousand and 1,023 thousand subscriptions respectively.

On the occasion of the 95th World Savings Day on 31 October, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella wanted to remember that “a sustainable future is based on the prudent management and protection of savings, enshrined in our Constitution”. For this anniversary, the annual Acri/Ipsos survey on savings was also presented, from which it emerges that there is a return to economic “normality” by Italian families, thanks to a recovery in the ability to save and greater relaxation in consumption ? in one year the percentage of families who manage to save without too many sacrifices has jumped to 55%, with an increase of 7 percentage points compared to 2018.

In this context, postal savings books, issued by the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and guaranteed by the State, stand today in the province of Vicenza at almost 300 thousand, while in the province of Treviso they reach 321 thousand: in great demand because they offer a certain return and the convenience of can be subscribed and collected without any charge at any Post Office in Italy. Interest-bearing bonds also increase, reaching 670,000 in the province of Vicenza while in the Marca they reach 772,000. Issued for the first time in March 1925 in denominations of 100, 500, 1,000 and 5,000 lire, these instruments also immediately became the best safe saving solution.

Poste Italiane is therefore confirmed as the safe haven for savings for Italians, thanks to the possibility of investing small and large sums with the guarantee of good profitability. Postal savings books are available in different versions, including those dedicated to minors and the one called “Smart”, which allows you to set aside all or part of the sums deposited, benefiting from a higher remuneration than the base rate and with the possibility of managing operations online or through a free App for smartphones and tablets. Postal interest-bearing bonds allow you to invest even small sums, have no issuing, management or collection costs, are exempt from inheritance tax and are subject to a tax of 12.50%.
