Let’s not give up an inch, even on Tuesday 18 June, present in the Municipality to discuss real solutions for the rampant housing emergency in the city and keep attention high on this issue.
After the important day of battle on the 17th, where thanks to the mobilization and insistence of our union we managed to bring home several results, albeit partial and temporary, for the families we follow, today we have returned to reiterate our demands.
An extraordinary house plan for public housing, this is the only solution there is.
Recover the dozens of abandoned and unassigned apartments from ERP in the municipality, accommodation that today rots in decay rather than becoming a home for those who need it.
What happened to Minister Salvini’s much-vaunted “house plan” that he promised us in the last election campaign? Maybe he was too busy with that Strait Bridge nonsense? Or to nominate indecent characters for elections? Instead of thinking about the problems of our fellow citizens in a housing emergency?
We want to stop selling off public real estate, but instead increase the number of units.
We demand that those responsible find real immediate solutions while awaiting this extraordinary and massive intervention, which all bodies, municipality, region and government must take responsibility for.
We want guarantees and quick turnaround times on the works for the construction of the 35 apartments in the slaughterhouse.
We want a discussion and intervention table to be opened, which, as has already happened in many other Italian and European cities, addresses in a farsighted manner the growing problem of short-term rentals, Airbnbs and the private “market” drugged by the tourist season.
As a union we will continue to fight blow for blow in order to defend the rights of those who risk ending up sleeping on the streets without dignified solutions.
