Sassari. Week of celebrations for the village of San Giovanni which, like every year, turns the spotlight on the show, attracting thousands of spectators.
The organization managed by the cultural association San Giovanni Battista Celebration Committee, active since 2014, is ready to celebrate ten years of activity with two unmissable days.
From 2014 to today the association has proposed on the stage of San Giovanni the best expressions of regional music such as Tazenda, Collage, Maria Giovanna Cherchi and Istentales, singers of national fame such as Finardi, Antonella Ruggiero, Bianca Atzei, Shade and Carolina Marquez. In 10 years so much fun with cabaret artists and comedians of television fame such as Baz, Pino e gli antichi, Fubelli, Impastato, Migone, Uccio de Santis, Mezzancella and Nuzzo and di Biase in addition to the many DJs who have made the square dance among all Pippo Palmieri and DJ Osso.
We start on Friday 28 June at 10pm with the dance show Memories 2000. A show dedicated to the 2000s, the songs that marked the new millennium with which many of us grew up. A sound journey with national DJs, dancers, special effects and lots of involvement with the audience present. A true party dedicated to music, style, icons and the most important events from 2000 to today. Opening and closing of the evening entrusted to the young local DJ Gabry Dj.
Saturday 29th was the highlight of the civil celebrations with a great guest. At 10pm Anna Tatangelo, a very famous singer and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful voices on the national music scene, will take the stage at San Giovanni.
With eight participations in the Sanremo Festival as a protagonist, eight studio albums, over 20 platinum records, millions of copies sold all over the world, international feats such as the one with Michael Bolton in 2008, tours, but also the radio, the television (from Carlo Conti for “The Best Years” on Rai Uno, to the hosting of “Scene da un Matrimonio” on Canale 5, to the coach in “Io canto Generation” in 2023 and juror in “Io Canto Family” this year or the experience as a judge on “X Factor”), the work as an actress for the first time in “Natale al Sud”.
Anna lived many lives in one, with a single fixed point always by her side: music.
Music itself will be the protagonist of a unique, modern concert, a real show made of colors, choreographies and dancers, an unprecedented show. The Ciociaria singer’s last appearance in Sassari and north-west Sardinia was back in 2007.
To San Giovanni he will bring his greatest hits from “Ragazza di Periamo”, “Muchaca”, “Essere una donna”, up to the more modern “Guapo” and “Mantra”, his new single released in May for Artist First: a new project in which Anna starts from scratch in the sound, in the sincere lyrics of an album in progress and in which the artist has laid herself bare like never before.
The opening of the concert will be entrusted to the voice of singer Berny Spanu, the closing of the evening and the party will be performed by Riccardo Barone’s DJ set.
All evenings have free admission, the organization provides the public with free (unattended) parking near the party as well as food stands, drink kiosks and exhibition stands within the area where the party will take place.
Civil but also religious events scheduled this week which opens on Monday 24th with the celebrations of the nativity of Saint John the Baptist with holy mass in the morning and in the evening at 6pm presided over by Don Giovanni Tanca, at the end procession to the river with the simulacrum of the saint and moments of socialization in the parish hall.
