Villa Rosina, the popular neighborhood located on the outskirts of Trapani, needs primary urbanization works. And politicians argue about funding. Because, if on the one hand the regional deputy Peppe Bica of Fratelli d’Italia, speaks of a concrete prospect of financing, on the other Cristina Ciminnisi, a colleague in the regional parliament but of the Five Star Movement, has another idea.

“It makes you smile the attempt ofORn. Bica to make people believe, once again, that there is a truly concrete prospect of financing for the Villa Rosina district – these are the words of Cristina Ciminnisi –. THEthe supposed “best effort” that the Hon. Bica attributes to the regional government is ato alteration ofreality that it clashes with the facts: there is no funding direct
for the completion of the works in the Trapani district”.

The deputy’s clarification comes precisely in response to the note from my colleague Giuseppe Bica, and on the sidelines of the hearing in the EU Commission of Vincenzo Falgares, general director of the Regional Planning Department, on the agreement for the 2021-2027 development and cohesion fund between the national and regional governments.

Nohe moment in which the Regional Government decided to define a line of intervention on urban regeneration, it also chose to postpone the Villa Rosina intervention to that very line, but without any certainty that the related planning could have access to financing. Making people believe otherwise, as my colleague Bica does, is misleading because there can be no certainty other than that of an open tender, that we don’t know about yet contents ecriteria of selection,in which he will have to participate the Municipality of Trapani, together with the other 390 Sicilian municipalities to divide the remaining 100 million from FSC funds“.
