CARRARA – For the 12th consecutive year the famous flag has been awarded to the beaches of Marina.
The Marina di Carrara blue flag awarded for the 12th consecutive year. This is an award assigned on the basis of the quality of bathing water and the services available to the public. To win the Blue Flag it is necessary to respect a series of requirements, which concern the quality of the bathing water certified by the results of the analyzes carried out by Arpat throughout the bathing season. To this indispensable requirement are added others such as environmental education and information activities activated, environmental management, services offered and safety.
The main authorities were present at the ceremony including the Prefect of Massa Carrara, Guido Aprea and the commander of the Carrara port authority Monica Selene Mazzarese.
A ceremony in which the girls and boys from the “Giampaoli” and “Lunense” nursery schools of the “Taliercio” and “San Luca” and “Perticata” nursery schools of the “Fossola Gentili” comprehensive institute also took part.
At the end of the ceremony, Nausica, the multi-service company of the municipality of Carrara which among other things also deals with the environment, donated a recycled plastic water bottle to the children present as a symbol of respect for the environment and recycling.
