“The culture of non-violence meets the art of fashion”

The Violence and Suicide Observatory, chaired by Dr. Stefano Callipo and for Calabria represented by the lawyer. Giuliana Barberi, legal area representative, together with the Municipality of Reggio Calabria in the person of its Mayor, lawyer. Giuseppe Falcomatà, sponsored the cultural event with high social value “The culture of non-violence meets the art of fashion” during which the presentation through a “live motion” exhibition of the high fashion collection “OROSCENZA” will take place by the Reggio stylist Luana Polimeni inspired by the inner rebirth of abused women and victims of violence. The show will be embellished by the performance of the dancers Giada Sanfilippo and Davide Calarco.

The event was entirely curated by Aurora Cama, from Reggio Calabria and a graduate in economics and management, fresh from various experiences in the fashion field at the recent fashion weeks in Milan and Naples, she wanted to give life in her city to the important social project that combines Culture and Fashion.

At the opening, after the institutional greetings of the numerous institutional and professional city officials present, the round table will take place in which Dr. Francesca di Landro, magistrate and president of the CPO of the Judicial Council of the local Court of Appeal, will intervene and, within of the actions of the chaired Committee, she became the spokesperson for the important issues of equal opportunities in the professional context of the Judiciary, the Lawyers and all the administrative components of the Reggio judicial district.

The Violence and Suicide Observatory, which is based in Rome and is chaired by Dr. Stefano Callipo and whose organization chart includes the Vice President, the lawyer. Alessandra Zagarella, also present at the event, is a non-profit association, made up of a network of professionals, psychologists, psychotherapists and lawyers, with a federative structure, present with offices in almost all regions of Italy. It is made up of a dense network of psychologists, psychotherapists, lawyers and professionals in the sector distributed throughout Italy.

The Observatory plays a role in the national territory of assistance, control of the suicide phenomenon and violence in all its forms, a role of research and dialogue with the institutions to combat and contrast the two aforementioned phenomena and an information role, training and culture, through the numerous events held throughout Italy by the most valid professionals within the Observatory. Finally, the prevention role played by the OVS is particularly important through specific projects to combat primary, secondary and tertiary suicidal risk factors.

Luana Polimeni, Reggina stylist and founder of the eponymous brand Luana Polimeni – Dress the Soul, the third generation of a long tradition of couturiers, has received many awards in her short career, from her first debut on the catwalks of Alta Roma (the Capitoline event of Italian High Fashion) to the recognition in Campidoglio with “La Lupa Capitolina”, and also to the international exhibitions which saw her side by side with the most prestigious names of Italian High Fashion, up to the most recent milestone in which she was chosen by a well-known Italian showgirl to walk the prestigious red carpet in Venice on the occasion of the 80th Film Art Exhibition.

The designer’s goal is to create ethical fashion through the continuous search for absolute beauty, conceiving fashion as a tool that truthfully treats the women who choose to wear her clothes. During the event he will present his latest collection called “OROSCENZA”, a neologism that wants to describe the individual’s ability to overcome obstacles and emerge enlightened from them, in particular it is a manifesto to the inner strength of women who, having overcome their storms, have made a virtue of its own evolution in terms of inner beauty. The reference to Gold in the sculptural pieces that enrich the collection is a clear inspiration from the art of kintsugi, a transcendent and evolutionary combination.

The event is moderated by the lawyer. Giuliana Barberi also Commissioner of the CPO of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, a well-known professional from Reggio Calabria, who has always been committed to the context of equal professional opportunities and the territory.

The initiative was created thanks to the sensitivity to the topics covered by various entrepreneurs and professionals in the area who wanted to contribute under the regime of donations and exchange of services.

The event will be held on Thursday 20 June 2024 in the Foyer Hall of the Cilea Theater in Reggio Calabria starting at 6.00 pm with follow-up.
