Searches and acquisitions of documents in the home of the current regional councilor for Budget and Sport, Mario Quaglieri, in the regional headquarters in Palazzo Silone, in the health department in via Conte di Ruvo in Pescara and in the Di Lorenzo private clinic in the center of Avezzano . This is the decisive step taken by the L’Aquila Prosecutor’s Office’s investigation into the relationship between the newly elected “voting champion” councilor and surgeon of the Di Lorenzo clinic and the private facility in Avezzano.
In particular, the magistrate, on the basis of complaints presented by political parties, wants to shed light on the resolution of the council of 28 December last year, therefore before the elections, with which the Marsilio executive launched a provision for the allocation of a high budget specialties to seven private healthcare facilities including Di Lorenzo. Apparently, the Carabinieri have, by delegation from the Prosecutor’s Office, acquired paper and digital documentation in Quaglieri’s home in Trasacco (where he was mayor) and therefore in the other regional offices.
The time frame currently taken into consideration by the Prosecutor’s Office saw Quaglieri hold the role of president of the regional health commission before becoming budget councilor. The former mayor of Trasacco and leading exponent of Fratelli d’Italia, simultaneously worked as a surgeon in private clinics (with a non-subordinate employment relationship) affiliated with the same Region (first in Celano, then in Avezzano) .
