These days on Italian talk shows we are mainly talking about two important reforms defended by the Meloni government: premiership and differentiated autonomy. In particular, the second was harshly attacked by the opposition, so much so as to trigger the sensational brawl in Parliament which saw the grillino as protagonists Leonardo Donno and the Northern League member Igor Iezzi. According to the detractors of the executive’s proposal, with differentiated autonomy the country would split into two: a Serie A Italy and a Serie B Italy.

Differentiated autonomy was also discussed at The blowing airthe La7 political talk show hosted by David Porec. In today’s episode, Wednesday 19 June, Antonio Di Pietro, guest of the program, explained to viewers how important popular will is to approve a change of institutional direction. And, to support his thesis, he also revealed a curious anecdote about his personal life. “I cite my concrete case – began the former magistrate -. I am a Molise native who moved to the North and lived between Bergamo and Milan. After finishing my career, I returned to Molise, but I left my residence in Bergamo for one reason only: because this way I go to be examined in the health facilities of Bergamo and Milan”.

The former minister then also focused on the premiership, arguing that it is a good institutional reform. “I am ideally in favor to the fact that the Italians choose their prime minister and the majority that guides him – declared Di Pietro – I prefer that the Italians choose who will govern us and not the usual palace games”.
