Messina, the Italian Music Festival 2024 on Friday

Also this year the municipal administration has registered the city of Messina among the Italian municipalities that offer the “Italian Music Festival”, 2024 edition. The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Messina, takes place on Friday 21 June, to celebrate the summer solstice with music, and on Sunday 23 June. The Administration, through the Department of Cultural Policies, coordinated the calendar of the various activities proposed in collaboration with the A. Corelli Conservatory, the AOSTA Brigade, the Theater Authority and the associations that offered their performances and/or or shows.

The aim of the Music Festival is to spread the values ​​of music and the artists’ performances, in principle, free of charge.

The European Music Day was born in Paris on 21 June 1982, providing, throughout France, the performance of young and old musicians in squares, urban spaces and gardens. Since 1985 it has been celebrated in almost all European cities; in Italy it arrived first in Rome and then in Naples and is promoted by the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Culture with the participation of numerous Italian municipalities.

The program includes the following events:

“VITTORIO EMANUELE” THEATER

7.00 pm – Concert by the Symphony Orchestra of the “A. Corelli” (made up of students, teachers and trainees of “Corelli”), directed by Maestro Francesco Ommassini, teacher of Orchestral Practice at the Peloritano Musical Institute).

Pieces performed: Symphony from the “Barbiere di Siviglia” by G. Rossini; Dear companions from V. Bellini’s “Sonnambula”, Suite n. 2 from “Arlesienne” by G. Bizet, the Symphony from “Joan of Arc” by G. Verdi, Ernani, involami from “Ernani” by G. Verdi and the Suite n. 2 from “Carmen” by G. Bizet. Soloist is the Messina soprano Francesca Mannino.

8.30 pm – “Night of Notes”. Performance of a band and singers with a dance troupe, organized by MP Eventi
