The Eastwest Institute visited the Municipio station of line 1 this morning at the invitation of prof. Paolo Carbone, president of Metropolitana di Napoli spa The guests and members of the scientific committee of the Institute of Geopolitics and Business Consultancy on International Markets took a guided tour of the construction site where the complex works to arrange the many archaeological remains found in the ‘area. The results obtained to safeguard and enhance the extraordinary historical stratification that came to light aroused particular interest.
“Creating infrastructure in the presence of archaeological sites is one of our most significant skills. In the Municipio station it will soon be possible to take a journey into the memory of the city, which goes from the Hellenistic era to the medieval era, passing through Roman and Aragonese Naples. It is an exciting journey that demonstrates how the Naples Metro has been able to translate the discovery of important testimonies of the past into design solutions which, after guaranteeing their restoration, return them to the present in their unprecedented beauty” underlined the professor.
