‘The lawn in the eyes’ by Anna Iaccarino: love for life, affection and friendship

A narrative path that follows a double track, glorified love, as well as the most disastrous falls, the exaltation of it and the consumption of its distance, the rediscovered heart and the poignant awareness of half lives.

Anna Iaccarinoalready author of three previous works, all published by Publishers Guide, returns to national distribution with a new creature in ink, as the author herself likes to define it, with the novel: “The meadow in the eyes” Publishers Guide.

A journey of 218 pages, with a double narrative focus, love as a centrality crossed in its multiple and diversified declinations; friendship as a common thread of an expanded life path. A traveling story of many voices.

Female protagonism and male figures that accompany the turning points of time.
A book to leaf through like a succession of sliding doors, which open, lock, restart, trying to free themselves from the double locks, to let oneself go into the unknown of becoming. Wanting to try to give it a vision of physicality, one could imagine it as a sort of talking mirror in which various women’s faces rotate. Four women who are different and distant from each other, but united by a common path of need for freedom, conquest of awareness, attempt to overcome the lines of fragility that each brings with them.

Can they do it? There is no clear answer, as often in life and as the book itself repeatedly points out in evoking the transits of time. The protagonists try to make it their goal in the only way possible: by not giving up and believing in it all together. That is, safeguarding one’s uniqueness, through a path of extended sharing and new eyes that, for the first time, open up to distant and forgotten worlds.

A journey in which, as the author herself hopes, those who choose to read it can find themselves in small fragments of themselves, recognize themselves in some way of arrival that opens up new passages of existence. Less alone in the fear of a choice and perhaps closer to that other “feeling”, too often left silent, to make it together and welcome the subjectivities of being.

A narrative path that follows a double track, glorified love, as well as the most disastrous falls, the exaltation of it and the consumption of its distance, the rediscovered heart and the poignant awareness of half lives.

A whirling ups and downs, an internal journey that brings naked truths to light but, at the same time, tries to break down clichés, always steering towards tomorrow. A strong and delicate book, between a thousand ifs and a thousand buts, constantly navigating horizons and listening to life.
