“On stage to help Filippo Malatesta and play with him”

Helping a friend in time of need, using music that unites to do so… You’ll never walk alone Filippo Malatesta will be this too. At the Notevolo restaurant in Rimini on Sunday there will be an evening of live performances, fun and the memory of the good old days, when on the stage of the historic The Barge’ the young Rimini music scene and Malatesta himself took their first steps. “In addition to the charity for Filippo Malatesta after the arson of his restaurant, we want to bring back a space that no longer exists: the bar as it was experienced in the 90s”, says Lorenzo Semprini, musician and organizer of the event . Many artists from Rimini will liven up Sunday’s charity evening: among them Daniel and Donatello Angelini, Massimo Marches, the Rangzen band and many others. Filippo Malatesta could not be missing, who just last Saturday was able to reopen his restaurant in Villa Verucchio after the arson that devastated the structure two months ago. The fundraising is intended to assist the Rimini artist in restarting his activity after the tragic fire. “What unites us has always been music. I and many musicians who will be on stage on Sunday grew up together with Filippo, and we couldn’t stand by and watch – continues Semprini – The charity will meet the memory of the moments in which we were all together at The Barge to play and have fun.” The venue on the Rimini seafront has seen local artists like Malatesta grow and establish themselves. “Filippo played every Tuesday evening and always made us sold out – recalls Luca Paci, the historic manager of the venue between ’96 and 2016 – It all started right within those walls and after all these years we could only help one of our own friend right through all the protagonists of those evenings”.
