TERAMO. The unions sound the alarm clock on politics and institutions. They ask for concreteness and interest in the Imr-Industriale Sud Spa dispute in Teramo. They want answers from the Region and the activation of a table at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
The situation of the important company that deals with the molding and assembly of plastic products in the automotive sector has long been under the magnifying glass of the unions who already a year ago had asked, without success, for a ministerial table as happened for the other companies of the group found in other regions.
The Teramo factory has almost 500 employees, of which 130 are temporary. The latter would be the first to see their working continuity falter in light, as CGIL, CISL and UIL point out, of the progressive «transfer of work to other production sites and the dismantling of equipment for work in the “Boutique” department (upholstery) but also molds for processing in the other lines”, they explained yesterday at the press conference Giampiero Dozzi of Filctem Cgil, Emidio Angelini of the Ugl e Giammauro Peticoni by Uiltec.
Last June 14th the workers gathered in the assembly to discuss the company situation, evaluating among other things negatively the exclusion of the Teramo union representatives from the table convened on June 6th following the state of agitation proclaimed in the other sites of the group due to the problems regarding the implementation of industrial reconversion plans. At the end of the meeting, precise demands were put down in black and white: the stop to all transfer operations of processing and related equipment to other sites; the immediate activation of all institutional initiatives necessary for the protection of the productive and professional heritage of the Teramo site; the verification of the industrial plan discussed at the regional level and verification of the plans in place in the other sites that have received funding from the Ministry; the stabilization of temporary workers as a guarantee condition for the production and employment stability of the Teramo site.
The workers also gave a mandate to the RSU and the union secretaries to proclaim a state of agitation with a 24-hour strike package if nothing moves.
In the meantime, this evening some preliminary answers could come from the Region: CGIL, CISL and UIL will in fact meet the regional councilor for productive activities Tiziana Magnacca to ask that the Imr-Industriale Sud dispute arrive on the Roman tables. (vm)
