“WE ASKED IT IN MARCH”

The spontaneous committee of Via San Francesco d’Assisi in Latina writes an open letter and asks the administration to asphalt the car park from number 33 to number 51

“We the citizens residing in Via San Francesco d’Assisi in Latina – we read in the open letter – express our deep regret for the lack of feedback from the municipal administration. Although a meeting request from over fifty residents was presented to the Mayor of Latina, Matilde Celentano and the competent councilors, exactly on 03/18/2024 and a further reminder on 05/01/2024, to date we have not received any appointment to discuss the problems that afflict our neighborhood.

The municipal car park located in Via San Francesco d’Assisi is in a deteriorated condition. with unpaved surfaces full of potholes that fill with water during rainfall. This situation not only represents a risk to the safety of parked vehicles, but also constitutes a serious inconvenience for residents and anyone who uses this car park on a daily basis.

Potholes damage vehicles and hinder free transit, causing considerable frustration for local residents. Therefore, we had urgently asked for an asphalting intervention to be started, as well as a raised pedestrian crossing in front of the bus stop (Civico 35) to slow down the cars whizzing by at high speed and to guarantee safe and efficient crossing conditions. accessibility to all citizens.

A well-maintained car park would not only improve the quality of life for all the inhabitants of Via San Francesco d’Assisi, but would also help preserve the value of public heritage. We asked for a meeting with the relevant Mayor, Councilor and Manager to discuss the situation in depth and find concrete solutions. However, to date, we have not received any feedback.

We ask again that our request be taken into consideration with due urgency and we look forward to a timely and positive response. We remain available for any clarification or additional information that may be necessary.”
