The end of the works on the Sassari-Olbia.
There Sassari-Olbia it has long been a symbol of endless work in Sardinia. The councilor for public works Antonio Piutogether with the regional leaders of Anas, carried out a ten-hour tour to evaluate the progress on main state roads of the island, in view of the increase in summer traffic. During the tour, it was announced that all construction sites on the Sassari-Olbia will close by December 31st. Yes, since the end of July they will see the first improvements with the complete opening to traffic of lot 2, between Ardara and Ozieri.
The Anas manager for the island, Francesco Ruocco, guaranteed that by 30 July all four lanes will be open to traffic and the work will continue on the coplanar road system. However, the most critical node, in the 4-in. batch territory of Oschiri, will see traffic restored on four lanes by 28 July. The greatest engineering challenge is the construction of the viaduct over the Rio Mannu, composed of three four-span steel bridges, with the completion scheduled for November. The completion of the works on the entire Sassari-Olbia is expected by December 31st, thanks to the synergy between clients, designers and businesses.
The tour then continued towards Coghinas lake, along the state road 392 that connects Oschiri to Tempio. The Diana Bridge, closed since 2022, should reopen on July 15, as explained by the mayor of Oschiri, Roberto Carta, highlighting the inconveniences for residents and services during the closure. Ruocco confirmed that the commitment of the contracting companies will allow the objective of reopening to traffic to be achieved as soon as possiblewith continuous reorganizations and new solutions.
