Genoa, two Primaveras can follow Agostini to Pontedera

While waiting for the indications for the next edition of the Serie C championship, the teams already certain of participating in the competition are starting to move on the market with the first purchases and reinforcements. In this case the protagonist of the market movements is still the Pontederathat after the arrival of Mr. Agostini on the benchas reported by The Pontedera Nation, he would be targeting two young players for next season and he would be doing it once again at home Genoa. This time in fact the names are those of Simone Calvani And Alessio Sarpa, both born in 2005 and owned by the Ligurian club. Last season, the Granata finished the championship in ninth place in the standings with 52 points in Serie C. In the Playoffs, however, Pontedera exited in the first round, after a 2-2 draw against Pescara.

But who are the two young Genoa talents that Pontedera wants to rely on for next season? Let’s find out together.

Genoa – MARTIN COCCIOLO

Pontedera, eyes on Simone Calvani

One of Pontedera’s two targets is certainly Simone Calvani, goalkeeper of Genoa Primavera. The class of 2005 this year was the Grifone’s starting goalkeeper for the Primavera 1 championship with Agostini. For him 28 appearances, 41 goals conceded and 8 matches in which he didn’t concede a goal. An important season which allowed him to gain visibility and increased the interest of some clubs, including the Tuscan one. Despite being called up to Serie A, he has not yet managed to get his debut among the greatest, which however could arrive starting from September, perhaps in the Serie C championship. This experience could strengthen the talent and certainties of the extreme defender, who has all the potential to become an excellent goalkeeper for the yellow-blues in the future.

Pontedera, interest in Alessio Sarpa

The other name linked to Pontedera is that of Alessio Sarpa, left back owned by Genoa. A season as a starter in the Primavera 1 championship has also arrived for him. As for Calvani, it has arrived well 28 appearances with 3 goals and 3 assists. Not bad numbers for a full back. For the 2005 class, no first team call-ups have been made this year and a temporary experience away from Genoa could help him in his individual growth phase and allow him to accumulate the necessary experience to be able to play in the first team also in Serie A for the upcoming seasons.
