The Teatro Massimo Of Palermo in third place among those more beautiful and important to world. It emerges from the ranking, drawn up on a sample of 100 thousand voting users from the international Travel 365 platform, on a selection of 50 theaters around the world. The Palermo theater is on the podium after the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan.

“All this shows how far-sighted the choice of this administration was to have focused on the relaunch of the Teatro Massimo since its inauguration and the results of the last two years are clear proof of this”, adds the mayor. Satisfaction is also expressed by the superintendent and artistic director, Marco Betta.
“We are happy with this recognition which encourages us to maintain a high level of cultural offering and usability of the Theater – he says -, both as a monument of unparalleled artistic and monumental value, and as an institution and factory of art and culture which with all its workers represents the Italian cultural identity in all its richness and beauty in the world”. Inaugurated at the end of the nineteenth century and immediately a protagonist of the cultural life of the city, the Teatro Massimo is one of the most visited monuments in Palermo. In 2023 it reached the all-time record of over 200,000 visitors.
Open 365 days a year, today it is the first cultural factory in the Sicily with its orchestra, choir, dance troupe, youth groups and stagecraft workshops. It hosts the greatest artists on the international scene with a constant program of operas, ballets and concerts.
