Anyone expecting a goleada from France against Austria this evening will have been disappointed. France didn’t have many chances and at least three of them were clear ones and they wasted them. Just like Austria who threw it away in the only scoring opportunity they had. The match was won by the Transalpines thanks to a wicked own goal by Wober who pierced his goalkeeper with a header following a cross from Mbappé. A tough but essentially correct match with two incidents involving Griezmann and Mbappé, the first with a wound to the forehead, the second with a blood loss from the nose.

In the 7th minute Mbappé goes like a knife through butter in the Austrian defense and enters the area but Pentz is not surprised and sends it into the corner. In the 55th minute Rabiot serves Mbappé deep who overtakes an opponent and, like a sprinter, flies towards Pentz but the French champion shoots incredibly wide. In the 68th minute Pentz blocks a shot from Thuram lurking in the area.
