Great success for Varese Van Vlaanderen
Participation in the Varese Van Vlaanderen was a great success, beyond the expectations of the Organizing Committee and the Orinese Cycling Society.
391 participants set off from FeStiAmo Park in Cittiglio to tackle the three planned routes: two for randonneurs and one for gravellists. On the 105 kilometer route there were 21 walls to climb which put the pedalers to the test. For the fourth time the race took place in Alfredo Binda’s hometown.
The participants particularly appreciated the race package and the five refreshments provided, but also the attention shown to celiac athletes with a refreshment dedicated to them. The latter was an absolute novelty for cycling in Lombardy.
The athletes were also able to appreciate the numerous panoramic points before returning to Cittiglio and collecting the certificate of participation. The protagonists of the day witnessed the awarding of the largest groups with the trophy dedicated to the memory of Massimo Minelli. It was the Campo dei Fiori Cycling Group that won the prize in the special ranking for the largest teams. The National Group and Team Funtos Bike were immediately behind. The mayor of Cittiglio Rossella Magnani then gave everyone an appointment for 15 June 2025.
