Basketball, coach Palantrani also leaves Teramo to Spicchi – News

There is once again an illustrious greeting to be recorded at the Teramo house in Spicchi. After the “goodbyes” of coach Massimo Gramenzi and sporting director Davide Piliego, another member of the red and white staff, who in the last season ferried Mediterranea Teramo towards a well-deserved salvation, chooses to embark on a new professional path.

Coach Giorgio Palantrani has thus decided to test himself in a new context, interrupting after 6 years the collaboration with Teramo a Spicchi, which began first as a player in the then Serie C Silver (2018/19 season) and then continued as a coach both in the TaSp Young youth sector and in the first team (as assistant coach to Massimo Gramenzi and as assistant coach to coach Andrea Gabrielli) in the last two seasons in B.

A thoughtful and painful decision for a professional also linked by great friendship with all the people involved in the Teramo a Spicchi family: “It was not an easy decision to make. I’m sincere. I had the opportunity to start coaching thanks to TaSp a few years ago – these are the parting words of coach Giorgio Palantrani – and in the last two years I have also been able to compete in a senior Serie B staff. As a coach I owe a lot, if not everything, at Teramo a Spicchi. During this period, however, the opportunity arrived to have an experience outside the world of TaSp and I decided to get back into the game and try. I believe I was presented with a good opportunity to grow and I decided to take it. Let’s see how it goes.”

On the one hand there is curiosity about the future while on the other hand there is disappointment in having to leave an environment full of strong bonds and friendships: “I repeat. It was not easy for me to make this decision. I am very sorry to leave all the boys I have trained in recent years in the youth sector – concludes coach Palantrani –, especially the 2010s. With them a beautiful group was created, made up of both the boys and their parents. However, I hope that the choice I made will repay me for the future. Now I would like to thank the tireless Paolo Marini, I thank the coaches who believed in me, first and foremost Nazzareno Taraschi. If I have undertaken this activity at Teramo a Spicchi, a good part of the credit goes to him. I thank the head coaches of the Serie B with whom I have collaborated and all the boys in the youth sector. Let’s hope that the possibility of meeting again sooner or later arises. Mine is therefore a see you later and not a goodbye. That’s what they say in these cases but it’s the honest truth”.
