General Claudio Graziano, president of Fincantieri, was found dead this morning, he was 70 years old. Graziano was born in Turin in 1953 and recently he had lost his wife. There are many hypotheses about the causes of the general’s death, among which is that of suicide. Graziano had been Chief of Defense Staff from 2015 to 2018 and Chairman of the Military Committee of the European Union. He had been nominated president of the Fincantieri group in 2022. Graziano’s body was found in the bedroom. There was a gun and a note on the bed. The news of Graziano’s death immediately impacted Fincantieri’s stock on the stock market, which reacted with a dive into the red, below 5 euros and down by more than 3 percent. «I am shocked by the news of the tragic death of General Claudio Graziano. He leaves us an upright servant of the State, who throughout his life honored the nation, the armed forces and the institutions with dedication, competence and professionalism.
