The tax declarations to which all Italians are also required for the current year impose, among other things, the choice of taxpayers to allocate 5 per thousand of the Irpef to one of the non-profit and socially useful organizations included in a specific list available on the Revenue Agency website.
Among these we highlight theVOLA Association – Volunteers for the Environment ODV, Delegation of the Campania Region, incorporated on October 25, 2023 and which has completed registration with Registro Unico Noational of TErzo Sector on 29 February 2024. This registration allowed VOLA to acquire the name of ORorganization dthe Vostentatiousto be admitted to the benefit of 5X1000Of stipulate agreements with public administrations and access public contributions.
It is chaired by Eleonora Melfi, an active volunteer in the area for years, especially for the rescue of felines in difficulty. She obtained a diploma social services technician and has practiced his profession in the field of assistance to children, the elderly and the disabled.
The Association pursues the aim of promoting and developing sensitivity towards environmental issues and respect for animals, addressing all age groups but, above all, children and young people.
The first activities that the Executive Committee has decided to undertake concern two Sectors of intervention: one dedicated to Animal Protectionwith the creation of Feline Oasis and of Oasis for Dogsand one dedicated to Training and Informationwith the organization of Dating at schools, in public contexts or at events, also with the help of dog trainers and ASL veterinarians.
These choices are driven by the great need for intervention that our territory expresses in the many emergencies that concern cats at large or dogs in difficulty, for which more stringent regulations apply.
The Oases will allow the Association to be able to deal with emergencies with the security of a place in which to care for and keep animals in difficulty and in which to carry out hospitalizations after sterilization carried out by the ASL. In these environments suitable for their nature, the animals are kept until they are released safely in the territory of origin or while awaiting safe adoption.
Finally, news of animal mistreatment is commonplace, often unconscious but very often the expression of an educational and social reality which in some cases goes to the extreme of torture! This is the reason for choosing act on training, especially of children and young people who can act as a driving force for family realities, with staff expert in the relationship with animals and their training. VOLA strongly believes that the demonstrative activity of trainers and veterinarians and the opening of visits to the Oases help people to develop sensitivity and respect towards animals.
The request for a site on free loan for use has already been forwarded to the Municipality of Salerno. Having identified some Municipality premises in a peripheral neighborhood in the eastern area of the city, it was decided to integrate them associative activities with those of one social library which contributes to redeveloping the cultural context of the neighborhood and facilitates the Municipality in granting these premises.
The VOLA association is present on social media with a FB page but will soon also have an Instagram page and the website is also being prepared.
