Paolo Carù’s funeral on Thursday in Gallarate

The funeral of Paolo Carù will be held on Thursday 20 June, at 3.45 pm, in the Basilica Santa Maria Assunta of Gallarate.

In the heart of the city, in Piazza Garibaldi, many came to pay homage: the classic bouquets of flowers, but also a reproduction of the cover of “Back on the road” by the Allman Brothers. The memory of customers and enthusiasts – from half of Italy, even in recent years – who were so fond of that shop which was and is an extraordinary window on rock, blues, country and the many derivative genres.

Paolo Carù he passed away at the age of 77, suffering from an illness while he was alone at home. Known throughout the world for its historic record shop in Piazza Garibaldi.

A precious presence for the city of Gallarate, but in reality recognized above all by the world of music, which saw in him – in the shop but also in the role of publisher of Buscadero – not simple competence, but authority and ethics, respect for quality music, for authentic research.

Thursday’s funeral will be preceded by the rosary at 3.30 pm. First, tributes can be paid to Paolo Carù at the San Cristoforo Funeral Home.
