Florence, 17 June 2024 – Summer is coming and it’s back again this year, R-summer with art!, Program of visits and educational activities for families and children in the spaces of the Uffizi Galleries in Florence. Created with the contribution of Unicoop Firenze, the project unfolds through a calendar of meetings that will allow participants to discover how many different ways the very rich and precious collections of the Uffizi, the sumptuous environments of Palazzo Pitti, the Boboli Gardens cwith its scents and its colors. New this year, the tours of the Uffizi during the evening opening hours of Tuesday: a unique opportunity to discover, in the evocative atmosphere of summer sunsets, the great masterpieces of art but also the monsters hidden in the paintings, the stories told in the panels of predellas below the large altarpieces. In addition to the thematic visits, there are also special multi-sensory visits to the Uffizi and the Boboli Gardens, to experience art not only with sight but with all the senses. In Palazzo Pitti we will talk about not only the great masterpieces kept in the palace, but also the time in which, before becoming a museum, it was the residence of great dynasties (Medici, Lorraine, Savoy) and their children, whose daily life took place in the sumptuous spaces of the palace and in the monumental Boboli Gardens, among studies, games, experiments and commitments of the Court. Finally, the Boboli Gardens itself will offer special routes dedicated to the typical scents and sounds of this true open-air museum; the stories of the gods and heroes depicted in the many ancient statues scattered among large tree-lined avenues and ‘secret’ lanes will also be told.
