On June 21st in Alghero Train To Roots celebrate twenty years of music

Alghero. “And to think we’re still here.” It is not a “simple” motivation in music, it is the truth of the story, the full awareness of being and persisting, the certainty of the path taken and the goal to be reached. To the rhythm of an incessant upbeat contaminated by Sardinia but imbued with contaminations dictated by taste, by experience, by travel, by the individuality lent to the cause that combine the peculiarities to give shape, life and substance to Train To Roots’ twenty years of music.

Twenty years is an important milestone for Simone Pireddu Bujumannu (vocals), Antonio Leardi Papa ‘Ntò’ (Keyboard), Giampaolo Bolelli Jambo (bass), Stefano Manai Stiv Man I (guitar) and Tommaso Ieri Pol (drums). Seven albums in 20 years are no small thing: from “Train To Roots in 2005” to “Ancora Qui” in 2023. They are “beyond” age maturity, they are the consecration of artistic maturity. And they should be celebrated.

Train To Roots will celebrate them on June 21st from 7.30 pm on Lungomare Barcellona in Alghero in an ad hoc event designed by Roble Factory – with the support of the Municipality of Alghero, Fondazione Alghero, Pro Loco Alghero, Festa della musica – together with their fans and some special friends like Bunna (Africa Unite), Claudia Aru, Isla Sound Sardinia and Jahlsas Sound System. An evening that promises a spectacle right from the start, and which has a whole story to tell capable of exciting anyone who will have the pleasure of sharing it in front of the stage without sparing energy and desire to dance and jump and sing and celebrate this powerful and beautiful anniversary.

Born in Sardinia in 2004, Train To Roots are one of the most renowned bands on the Italian reggae scene and have won over audiences in hundreds of concerts across Europe. Characterized by constant maturation and explosive live performances, in its discography the group has maintained a particular mix of styles and languages, a dimension in which the various nuances of Jamaican music and black music find space with committed and entertaining lyrics in Italian, Sardinian and English.
