Grest in Ciconia: the new edition from 1 to 26 July

It’s not summer without Grest. Having become a truly long-awaited and participatory tradition, Grest (Summer groups dedicated to young people in parishes) opens its doors again in 2024, with a suggestive and evocative theme: “At full speed: a summer on the road with Ulysses”, which recalls the idea of ​​adventure, movement, but also of meeting others, of knowledge and respect in diversity. There are many activities that the animators, around 50, together with Don Emanuele Frenguelli, parish priest of Ciconia and Grest manager, have organized for the young participants.

“We are very excited, we can’t wait to get started! – they say Anna, Isabel and Giacomothree of the animators, – we organized many activities: the space dedicated to the littlest “Blue Fairy” are confirmed, as are the workshops, the small theatrical skits in which the story of Ulysses will be told, the walks to discover the surroundings, the moments of play and prayer. But there will be many new features and surprises in this new edition, which we will reveal during the opening day, so as to leave a bit of suspense among the participants! The Grest Fest is also confirmed, bringing together all the grests that take place in the parishes of Orvieto and the surrounding areas”.

“Grest confirms itself as an important event for our parish but I would say for the entire community – He says Don Emanuele Frenguellithe pastor – I believe in it and I particularly care about it also because this experience means that boys and girls of different ages can find themselves in a healthy and shared environment. We make friends, we have fun, we share joys and emotions, we pray and, in doing so, we learn to grow together, cultivating Christian and human values. The theme of the “journey”, which is the leitmotif of this edition, is very current, it makes us reflect on themes such as meeting and sharing, very important aspects for building a future of peace and mutual respect. My thanks go above all to the animators and animators who, as usual, are lending their time and energy to ensuring that there is an optimal organization, where no one feels excluded, and above all in communion – which makes known the authentic face of the Church – and in which children can experience Jesus”.
