It’s an important week, the one that opens today, for the Diocesan Caritas of Catania, which celebrates its first 50 years of activity serving the territory.
For the occasion, two celebratory events have been organised, the first of which will be held on Wednesday 19 June, at 5pm, at the Archbishop’s Seminary of Clerics of Cataniain via Braille 26.
The meeting, entitled “Half a century of love – 50th anniversary of Caritas Diocesan of Catania”aims to be an opportunity to relive and share the most significant moments in the history of the diocesan body.
Moderated by the journalist Adelaide Barbagallothe meeting will see the participation ofarchbishop of Catania, mons. Luigi Renna, of the director of Caritas, Don Nuccio Puglisi, of representatives of the institutions and volunteers.
There will also be an interlude dedicated to the communication of solidarity by Except The Rose And Giuseppe Castiglia.
Thursday 20 June, during the morning, theCentral Station Help Center will host some meetings dedicated to children, to talk about the importance of the volunteers’ daily service; in the afternoon, at 5 pm, in the church of San Nicolò l’Arena, in Dante Alighieri square, Holy Mass will be celebrated. Following this, a moment of fraternal agape will be held with the guests.
